| The process for the production of alcohol using sugar
cane, is based on the properties of some micro-organisms to metabolise sugars
forming a residue of ethyl alcohol. As this alcohol is produced in low
concentrations it is necessary to eliminate the water portion by distillation.
In order to bring about this biological process, on an industrial scale a
series of operations have to be performed which can be grouped together in 3
sections :- Mash Preparation Fermentation Distilation-Rectification. With a
capacity to produce 50,000 lts. per day in the first year of operation, with
previsions to increase to 90,000 lts per day. Which will put
ALFICSA as the leading alcohol producer in Cuba in new
milenium aswell as one of the most important producers in the whole carribean
area. |
